HOA manager faces Texas charge of misapplication of fiduciary property

A Richmond-area man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of misapplication of fiduciary property involving a subdivision homeowners association.

Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Taggert Mayfield, 32, who operates Arrow Community Management and contracts with homeowners associations to be their property management agent, said Bob Haenel, spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Mayfield is accused of making illegal transfers of funds from one HOA to another, Haenel said.

Avalon at Seven Meadows, which is in the Katy area, contacted the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office with a complaint against Mayfield.

Records show Mayfield transferred $55,000 and $30,000 from one of Avalon at Seven Meadows' bank accounts to an account belonging to another homeowners association.
