I want the hobbit house. And note that none of these could have been built with an HOA around.

Violation Courtesy Notice

Dear Mr. Wayne,

We have noticed some construction taking place around your mansion.

Because you have not filed a change request with the Architectual Rules Committee, we had the property management company investigate.

The addition of a "Bat Cave" has not been approved by the Board of Directors, who are volunteers who give freely of their time to make our community a better place for everybody.

Also, bats are not on the list of approved pets that homeowners may keep. In addition to being prohibited, it has been observed that you are failing to clean up the bat droppings from the common interest areas.

Therefore, you are ordered to cease construction of this "Bat Cave," restore the property to its original condition, and remove the bats within ten days.

If you fail to comply, a lien will be placed on Wayne Manor, and our lawyers will proceed with non-judicial foreclosure of your property.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the property management company, not us. Somebody there may or may not eventually return your call.

Thank you for your cooperation.

PS -- Please tell Superman that he must check in at the front gate whenever he visits. Flying over the common elements is prohibited.

Although not from a cartoon, The Village was probably an HOA community.

The hobbit house is my favorite, too. Have you seen these? http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/ I wish my hoa would allow them.
