Up to two million march to US Capitol to protest against Obama's spending in 'tea-party' demonstration | Mail Online

Up to two million march to US Capitol to protest against Obama's spending in 'tea-party' demonstration | Mail Online: "Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as 'Obamacare makes me sick' as they protested the president's health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

People were chanting 'enough, enough' and 'We the People.' Others yelled 'You lie, you lie!' and 'Pelosi has to go,' referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi."

Must be quite a feeling for the Community Organizer in Chief to witness this.

There were maybe 50,000 to 75,000 people there. The protest signs were largely filled with hatred and peppered with racism. There was no coherency to the frustration.

Yesterday while thousands of protesters stormed the capital, President Obama ran away to Minnesota.

Obviously he ran to Minnesota because he is well-supported there by the obambots.

But what is there to gain in that? He won't get as much coverage as the protesters in DC will. He won't win any new converts in a hall full of people who already blindly support him and his vague, blown-to-pieces-by-facts "plan".

The clear outcome is even more division than there already is. He continues his screed about "lies" and "scare tactics" and brings no new or persuasive information. I guess he thinks if he continues to pound the same tired crap enough someone will begin to believe it.

The irony is that as the changer-in-chief he completely misses the NLP adage "If what you're doing isn't working, try something else!" because he just keeps repeating it over and over - like a robot. To his obambots. What he needs is a playbook different than Alinsky's. Try something new Mr. President. Try winning over your detractors with honesty and clarity. If that doesn't work, maybe you should rethink the plan. Now there's a novel idea - re-think something with a view towards finding something palatable to the majority of Americans instead of a minority of mooches who want something for nothing.

I love to see big peaceful demonstrations, whether I agree with the demonstrators or not. As anyone who has ever rallied people for a homeowner's association initiative knows, it takes a massive amount of work to organize something like that. I'm not as impressed by people who show up to someone else's event in order to disrupt it, but kudos to anyone who can pull off their own event.

Disappointingly, the "up to 2 million" estimate was apparently backed up by a photo of a different event: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/sep/14/tea-party-photo-shows-large-crowd-different-event/ .
