OCCUPY YOUR HOA!

-----------------
The "occupy" movement is becoming synonymous with any kind of organized protest. Including this one in Nevada protesting HOA "bully boards." These occupiers also want to be able to avoid occupying the HOA club room for "lame" HOA meetings and are calling for more transparent government in Privatopia. Seems to me that's achievable with current technology and doesn't require an act of the legislature.

In a video response to the "Occupy" movement, conservative commentator Bill Whittle, of Pajamas Media TV, has figured out how to "stop the rise and fall of civilizations". You know who else believed he figured out how to stop the cycle of history? Karl Marx.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters are complaining about everything from corporations to having to repay student loans. Is America the victim of its own success? Have we created a generation of self-entitled cry babies? Is it time to make these people spend three and half days in the woods so that they can appreciate what capitalism has given them? Find out.

This is what passes for conservative and libertarian thought?!

Bill Whittle's solution is to march everybody at gunpoint out of the cities. It worked for the Khmer Rouge. Come to think about it, I've never seen Bill Whittle and Pol Pot together in the same place at the same time.

Coming soon: Pajamas Media TV produces a video berating and belittling homeowners for their ingratitude towards their HOA board members, property management companies, and HOA law firms.

PS -- Ha! The "word verification" for this comment is "covet".

The trumpet of loyalty summons us - not as a call to foreclosure, though foreclosure we need; not as a call to oppression, though heavy-handed we are - but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation" - a struggle against the common enemies of proud homeowners: delinquent neighbors who don't take pride in following the rules, and insist on spreading lies and falsehoods about their community associations.

Can we forge against these enemies a grand alliance, North and South, East and West, that can assure a more fruitful life for all neighborhoods? Will you join in that historic effort?

In the long history of the America, only a few organizations have been granted the role of protecting property values in its hour of maximum danger. We do not shank from this responsibility - we welcome it. We do not believe that any of us would exchange places with homeowners whose neighbors can park their broken car on the front lawn. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavour will light our neighborhoods and all board members who serve them -- and the glow from that fire can truly light the rest of America.

And so, my fellow homeowners: ask not what your HOA can do for you - ask what you can do for your HOA.
