At least you have a right to vote the candidate of your choice in the U.S. election. In contrast, in an HOA/condo corp situation, your voting "privilege" is suspendable at the whims of the board. Since voting is "secret" you may never know your vote did not count. Often the election is also rigged so that candidacy is subject to incumbent approval. Incumbents always approve of themselves when the issue comes up. Stalin is known for a comment along these lines: "It matters not for whom the people vote for they always vote for us". He's also attributed for: "The people who cast the vote decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything." I'd add HOA management companies into the despot mix. Kinda reminds me of all those coin tosses Hillary Clinton "won".....
Now you may or may not like Trump but at least you have an enforceable right to exercise your vote AND there are other candidates for office. Last time I heard he wasn't trying to take away your right to vote.
