"The man awaiting trial on charges that he murdered two other men during a homeowners association meeting in September 2012 committed suicide in his Louisville Metro Corrections cell Saturday afternoon, officials said. Mahmoud Yousef Hindi was found hanging by a bedsheet around 3:55 p.m. — about 10 minutes after staff observed him praying in his cell, according to Corrections Director Mark Bolton."

It would have been nice to be able to perform a psychological analysis of this defendant to understand the post-traumatic stress type effect that oppressive "rule by HOA" has on people living in HOA-burdened property. Hindi isn't the first to react by killing his HOA oppressors and he won't be the last.

This deleterious effect of rule by HOA regime needs to be studied because folks that believe they are helpless dealing with the HOA corp and its vendors may resort to taking it out on folks at the workplace, family members, or others. We know the state isn't going to intervene. Hopefully the majority of victims keep it between themselves and the oppressors - more of them should be aware that the board members often have no idea what the management companies and the HOA attorneys are doing.
