My Way News - Pit Bulls Break Into Home, Maul Woman
There have been so many stories like this. Why do we have to live with the risk of being attacked by some idiot's pit bull? Maybe HOAs should ban pit bulls, along with all these other nightmare breeds (Presa Canario, Fila Brasiliero, etc.) that were created to kill. I recently drafted a document amendment to do that. In Illinois, municipalities can't ban any breed because the state legislature caved to the pit bull breeders while claiming to be passing a new and improved dangerous dog law. But HOAs could do it. Or maybe we should have a state law requiring all of these dangerous breeds to be neutered before they reach reproductive age, and ban importation of new ones, and just let the breed die out. I know it isn't the dogs' fault, but we don't need more of these incidents. And the absurd argument by pit bull lovers that it isn't instinct but the way they are raised has been disproved so many times that it isn't worth responding to.

Why give HOAs these powers? There is no question this is a horrific incident, however, these dogs sound like a marauding pack rather than out-of-control Fido next door.
For those of us in rural areas, could an HOA ban coyotes, etc? Who would the HOA penalize in this case. There is no question that people should be free to be at home without being threatened by neighbors' dangerous animals. But real government, not an HOA, is the appropriate vehicle to use to regulate. A private government such as an HOA will inevitably abuse the power to restrict because it is not subject to normal governmental scrutiny. How long before your pet must be passed before the Architectural Committee for approval?

HUMANS ARE THE MOST VIOLENT CREATURES ON THIS EARTH, SO WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BAN HUMANS OR HAVE THEM ALL NUTURED SO WE CAN NOT REPRODUCE? YOUR OPINION IS YOUR OPINION BUT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CALL PIT BULL OWNERS IDIOTS BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO ME YOU ARE THE IGNORANT ONE! ALL DOGS HAVE TEETH AND ALL DOGS ARE CAPABLE OF SERIOUSLY INJURING SOMEONE, IT IS JUST THE MEDIA PUBLISIZING ONLY PIT BULL ATTACKS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT PLENTY OTHER DOGS ATTACK ALL THE TIME BUT THE MEDIA DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THAT. A FREAKIN POODLE COULD ATTACK YOU AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY SO WHY PLACE ALL THE BLAME ON JUST PIT BULLS. WITH PROPER TRAINING AND LOVE PIT BULLS ARE THE BEST PET TO HAVE. THEY ARE VERY SMART AND LOYAL DOGS AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE THE MOST UNDER RATED BREED OF DOGS IN THE WORLD, AND ARE MISTREATED, AND VERBALLY ABUSED BY SOCIETY. I AM GETTING SICK OF IT. IF YOUR KID IS WALKING DOWN THE STREET PICKING AT THE DOG AND MAKING IT ANGRY QUITE NATURALLY THE DOG WILL DEFEND ITSELF, SO THE PARENTS SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE WHEN LITTLE TIMMY GET BIT BECAUSE LITTLE TIMMY WAS NEVER TAUGHT NOT TO MESS WITH STRAY DOGS! HUMANS ARE THE REASON FOR THIS, STOP BLAMING THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS, GIVE THEM THE PROPER RESPECT THEY DESERVE. STOP POINTING THE FINGER AT THEM AND LOOK TO THE OWNERS. I AM NOT GETTING RID OF MY PIT BULL BECAUSE OTHERS FEEL SHE SHOULD BE BANNED SO CONSIDER THIS A KISS MY ASS MESSAGE!!!!!!!
