"... no homeowners association will be able to stop you."

Homeowner association boards -- operating with an "undeniable lack of accountability"* -- have long kept people from doing things they were legally allowed to do, even where the law has specifically forbidden HOA boards from stopping them.

For example, I'm still hearing cases of homeowners fighting with the HOA boards that govern them -- over satelite dishes the owners are specifically allowed to have, by law.

Sometimes they fight all the way to the courthouse.

What happens to board members that know they're wrong, but make owners go to court to fight for their rights anyway?

They get free legal advice from the attorney that handles the case, and bills every phone call to the ass'n.

Any home 'owner' ass'n BOARD will be able to stop any Texan that wants to stick a sign in their front yard, if the Texan is not willing and able to get into a legal battle over their paper 'right'.

And how many people are willing and able to do that?
