Narcissistic People Most Likely To Emerge As Leaders

Narcissistic People Most Likely To Emerge As Leaders: "COLUMBUS, Ohio – When a group is without a leader, you can often count on a narcissist to take charge, a new study suggests.

Researchers found that people who score high in narcissism tend to take control of leaderless groups. Narcissism is a trait in which people are self-centered, exaggerate their talents and abilities, and lack empathy for others.

“Not only did narcissists rate themselves as leaders, which you would expect, but other group members also saw them as the people who really run the group,” said Amy Brunell, lead author of the study and assistant professor of psychology at Ohio State University at Newark."

Food for thought, not just for people who live in CIDs, but for the nation as a whole.

This item reinforces opponents of term limit laws that swept U.S. politics in the early 1990s. The idea behind the laws was to foster a return to true representative government comprised of citizens who run for office in response to the call for public service and then return to their private sector lives.

Term limits in retrospect did little or nothing to reduce the prevalence of the career politician who likely often possesses the narcissistic personality profiled in this article. Since narcissists aren't anyone's favorites, this may also explain the widespread contempt the electorate holds towards politicians.

Please take the time to read, "The Sociopath Next Door, " by Dr. Martha Stout. In my opinion and experience, many of the characteristics, personality traits, etc., Dr. Stout describes and identifies relating to sociopathy are found in far too many HOA/COA board members and their associates! Coincidence? I do not think so!
